Shibori is a Japanese technique of tying, stitching and folding fabrics before dyeing. The result is graphic patterning with a painterly edge with bright and soft colors within the patterns. Our shibori pieces are an on-going exploration of techniques in folding and dying and are continually evolving.
The variations in color are part of the beauty of the process and discovery of each dyed piece. We use indigo and hand-dip multiple times to deepen the indigo blue ink. The patterns are one of a kind and are unique to each individual journal or dish towel. Napkins are coming next!
